The Peoria County Election Commission will be mailing new Voter Registration Cards to all registered voters beginning Thursday, September 28, 2023.
“This mailing is required under the National Voter Registration Act and helps us to maintain accurate and up-to-date voter registration records,” stated Elizabeth Gannon, the Executive Director for the Election Commission. The Commission asks that you review the information on the card carefully. The card contains district information along with Polling Place information.
“A handful of polling places have changed, so be sure to check in the upper left-hand corner of your new voter registration card,” continued Gannon. All polling place changes are also listed below.
Your Voter Registration Card is not required to be shown prior to voting; the card is strictly for informational purposes only. If name and/or address information has changed, please follow the instructions found on the back of the Voter Registration Card to properly update your information. Anytime you move or change your name you must re-register to vote. Failure to do so may impact your right to vote.
If a Voter Registration Card is received, but no one by that name resides at the address, please return the card to the Election Commission office. If you do not return the card, we assume the voter lives at the address.
