Online Traffic Payment “Plead & Pay” Launching in Peoria County

August 10, Peoria, IL – In a joint venture, the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office and Peoria County Circuit Clerk’s Office are excited to announce a new online payment option for minor traffic tickets called Plead & Pay. Plead & Pay allows citizens to plead guilty and then pay for their tickets all online.  It will accept major credit cards 24/7 providing the ability to pay for tickets from anywhere and saving unnecessary trips to the courthouse.  Traffic tickets will soon have a QR code printed on them that will take one directly to Plead & Pay.  It will be offered for traffic tickets with a non-mandatory court appearance, such as speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, and disobeying a traffic-controlled device.  It is now available at peoriacounty.gov.

“The days of walking into the courthouse just to pay a minor traffic ticket are over.  Now you can take care of those tickets online instead of in line.”  Jodi Hoos, Peoria County State’s Attorney
