Arrests in Motor Vehicle Thefts/Motor Vehicle Burglaries

(Peoria County, IL) September 28, 2020 - During the months of August and September 2020, the Peoria County Sheriff's Office received numerous reports of motor vehicle thefts, garage burglaries, and motor vehicle burglaries throughout Limestone Township, Kingston Mines, Mapleton, Orchard Mines, and the Tuscarora Hills areas. The reports listed a variety of items had been stolen, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), firearms, and motor vehicles. Evidence collected through investigation indicated that the group of individuals responsible for these thefts also conducted burglaries outside of Peoria County.

On September 25, 2020, Peoria County Detectives and the City of Peoria Police Department arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile in relation to these burglaries. On September 28, 2020, officers also arrested one adult female in connection to the thefts: 18-year-old Haley Thomas of Mapleton. 

Investigators are still looking for another male juvenile suspect related to these burglaries.
