The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will award over 100 college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students pursuing higher education during the 2018-2019 academic year. The scholarships are intended to assist with the cost of tuition, books, and fees during the regular school year. Criteria and eligibility is detailed on the application.
Applications are available at the Administration Office on the second floor of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, 301 N. Maxwell Road and at the Peoria County Courthouse, Room B-20. Applications are also available online.
Sheriff Brian Asbell will award TWO scholarships this year for Peoria County, in the amount of $500.00 EACH. The scholarship program is funded through the various programs of the Illinois Sheriffs' Association Associate Membership Program. Sheriff Asbell considers this program an investment in the future and provides for better communication with residents of the communities served.
All applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2018.
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a Citizens' Committee selected by Sheriff Asbell. The committee will select TWO WINNERS and two alternates from Peoria County.
