[ARCHIVED] Sheds 200 square feet and under no longer require permits.

On September 12, 2019, the County Board approved an amendment to the ordinance as follows:

No building permit shall be required for the following: One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses and similar uses, provided the floor area does not exceed 200 square feet.

Although these structures will no longer require permits, they will still need to meet the setback and cumulative accessory structure size guidelines as set forth in the Unified Development Ordinance.  If you are unsure what these requirements are for your property or have questions about this amendment, please call the Department of Planning and Zoning at 672-6915 for more information.
