Peoria County is pleased to announce Wade Cies (SĪS) has accepted the role of Heddington Oaks Administrator, effective April 8, 2019.
As Administrator, Cies will be responsible for the daily operation of Peoria County’s long-term care facility. Cies will replace interim administrator Matt Nieukirk, who was brought in as part of OSF Healthcare’s team in fall 2018.
Cies has considerable experience with long-term care facilities, including his most recent position as Campus Administrator of Heartland of Riverview in East Peoria. In that role he partnered with OSF HealthCare to implement a transitional care unit, led strategic planning, and oversaw the re-implementation of processes leading to improved financial and patient outcomes.
He also previously was the Administrator at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria, where he managed the daily operations of the facility, improved financial outcomes, and worked to address Illinois Department of Public Health regulations and surveys. Cies has also held various managerial roles at JEA Senior Living in Vancouver, WA, Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Chillicothe, and Heritage Manor in Normal.
“I am excited to welcome Wade Cies to Heddington Oaks,” states Scott Sorrel, Peoria County Administrator. “I believe his considerable experience in nursing home management, track record of instituting change, and previous work in partnering with OSF HealthCare fits in well with the goals we’ve set for Heddington Oaks.”
Cies has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Illinois State University. He earned his Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) designation in 2009.
Cies is an active member of the community as a past president of Rotary International, a Master Mason of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, and a member of Phi Kappa Psi National Fraternity. He and his spouse, Kelly, have three children: twin daughters, Natalie and Addison, and son Luke.
