Peoria County – Join the Peoria County IT department for their annual GIS Day Open House on Wednesday, November 14 at the Peoria County Courthouse from 12-4 pm in room G10.
At the event you can learn more about GIS through map application demos, map posters, geography games and hands-on learning opportunities.
Have questions about your property or local jurisdictions? Staff will be on hand to teach the public how to locate property boundaries and property tax information in our interactive map at https://gis.peoriacounty.org/peoriagis.
Participants can also see how to search and download GIS data and maps using our Peoria County GIS open data portal website at https://data-peoriacountygis.opendata.arcgis.com. Peoria County’s portal allows anyone to search and download GIS data, digital maps, and reports free of charge without the need to register.

What is GIS?
GIS stands for geographic information systems. At its most basic level, GIS involves putting data, such as government boundaries and property tax information, into computer software to create a map. Users are then able to interactively explore, manipulate and analyze the digital map.
